Save the parents! His city is still filled with crime, and the Joker, etc, still arise - he'd probably still be friends with Harvey Dent, and thus, probably the Gordons. So instead of being angsty and spending a decade learning kung fu, he might just pay Lucius Fox to make him power armor. If we save his parents, maybe he turns into Iron Man instead.
