Jan 1 is New Year’s Day only by social convention. I should start a movement to celebrate New Year’s Day on a random date like July 22.

When I start my own country, I’ll just have my own calendar. And tourists will need higher math to determine what day of the week it is.

They’ll go into restaurants and be all, “We’ll have your daily special” and they’ll get served bear stew and complain that’s not their order

Then the waiter points out that it’s not actually Tuesday and that they miscomputed an integral therefore it was actually Thursday
