Despite the so-called “media bias”, the president still enjoys a high approval rating, meaning either (a) the public doesn’t care what the media says and believes the president in spite of everything (in which case why complain about the media?); or (b) the public believes the “big media spin” and approves of it anyway. I’ll leave it as an exercise as to which possibility is worse
Or maybe media is disconnected with the masses? One group is taking the wholistic approach; there is one explanation for everything, it is all related, and so on. On the other hand, for the other group it's more of a case to case basis or the impact in their immediate vicinity/ circles; what's happening at the local/barangay level, their workplace, the people they know, and such. They just have different appreciation.
Sad, huh? We can also just enjoy our own little worlds and just watch everything around us crash and burn…
Third possibility: people are more discerning and form their own opinions. Media plays a part in informing them but isn't the end-all and be-all.
Or could be all of them?
I guess that falls under (a). The idea that people don't care about bad things because things are good in my places/among my circles is still disturbing for me though
Doesnt necessarily mean people dont care what media says, or implies they believe everything the President says.
http://weknowmemes.com/2013/08/maslows-hierarchy-of-needs-updated/ It's related to this ü Sad but true
The great irony in all of this is seeing people disregard relationships fostered over several years due to events in the last 100 days.
I'm sure you and I are discerning, but the reactions of the masses on social media do not make me optimistic that they are becoming more discerning
There are also the rabid ones, mala World War Z at Train To Busan ang peg; if you are not one of them they will bite you ü Not limited to the masa.
