Dehumanizing people is the first step to violating their human rights

Ladies and gents, the secretary of “justice”

He sounds more like Secretary of Injustice to me.
Have you done or peddled drugs before?
only prescription ones :p i dont even drink or smoke lol
How come you defend them ardently?
It's more like I defend the idea of human rights. I certainly dont recommend people do drugs
Giving drug dealers human rights only slows down the process of vetting them, and cleaning the nation. If you know they're already doing something illegal and morally wrong, why not just end their cause directly?
As soon as a determination is made that they are doing something illegal and morally wrong, I have no concern with meting them the punishment that society deems is acceptable (even if I dont personally agree with the punishment, ie death penalty). And in any modern society, the processes for vetting them in order to make that determination includes both the due process of the courts and a respect for human rights. Those processes exist not only to protect the guilty, but the innocent as well. So it is also in my own self-interest to defend the concept of human rights, since if I'm ever put in a position where people would suspect me of doing something illegal and morally wrong, human rights and due process would protect me as well.
I see what you mean. I think our generation is too impatient to go through the due process.
The sentiment is understandable. It's easy, and yes people are impatient. "Criminals don't deserve rights" It's not like I haven't entertained such ideas myself. I think I'd be a bit more amenable to the idea if authorities were a lot more trustworthy - i.e. if cops could be completely trusted to make the determination on their own. Sadly, the authorities on this side of the world aren't very trustworthy.
