Anyone tried Audible? I’m thinking of turning to audiobooks so I could “read” more books, but for it to be useful, I’d have to be able to listen to the books while I’m coding or otherwise working. IDK if this is a terrible idea lol

I have a subscription. I listen while driving. I mostly get nonfic just because i still prefer my fiction visual. Only downside is i can't bookmark stuff if there's a particular section i want to take note of.
Audio books aren't like listening to music. You can drive to it, but I think coding takes too much concentration to be paying attention to a story.
It is (a terrible idea). Sometimes I need to "read" a book more than 2 times while driving. ( A book typically takes 6 hrs on ave sa audible) so kaya 1 week 2 to 3 times pakinggan during commute.
If you want book summaries (15mins to listen to,tops. Non fiction only) there's blinkist. It's not for everyone though.
Yup I used it. But I used it so far for a different purpose. I listened to a book that I already read in German, to know how words are correctly enunciated.
You can probably read faster than listening to the ‘books’, but they’re great companions while in traffic. I hardly listen to the radio anymore, just books and podcasts…
Thanks for the advice. I dont spend much time in traffic anymore (ask me how!) so I probably wont push through with this terrible idea
try subscription based alternative
Yeah, i don't think it'll work if you're coding. I mainly got it so my time in traffic can be somewhat productive.
I can't imagine listening to an audiobook while working, and especially while coding. Reading a book takes 99.99% of my attention.
Live near where you work
Roy Tang ive totally been doing that!
Ah you also shouldnt live in Ortigas or Makati or BGC. lol
