@roytang Cool article Roy. I wonder though if you’ll get the same results here in the Philippines, what with 80’s and 90’s songs still having constant radio airplay.
@joyarmadamba (1) his data is global (I participated), although it is reasonable to assume majority of respondents are americans/europeans. (2) “constant radio airplay” -> not sure if true, I’ve certainly never heard “Stay” on the radio in the last 10 years.
@joyarmadamba This may just be an observation bias on your part since you likely prefer listening to radio stations that specialize in “oldies” (and those radio stations exist in other countries too)
@roytang Possible, but if you do a survey of radio stations, a lot of them have similar content. There are at least 3 stations I know of that have a similar playlist. And yeah, I know you participated, but I’m not sure if you’re a representation of the typical Pinoy radio listener ๐Ÿ˜›
@joyarmadamba I am surely not, but eegardless both of us are the wrong generation to affect these results. am also not convinced the typical/average genz pinoy even listens to the radio
@roytang Haha true. I would like to say though, that my music education was formed because of what my parents listened to when I was young. So if the Pinoy parents now who are in our generation are listening to the radio stations in mind, then maybe GenZ here is more exposed?
