And working smart means being willing to think outside the box and explore different options to achieve your goals. Instead of trying the same things or the same approaches again and again which are not bearing fruit, see if there are other alternatives for you. Maybe your classmates can give you some advice, or maybe your school offers some sort of counseling service to help you with your career goals

The second face, you show to your close friends, and your family. The third face, you never show anyone. It is the truest reflection of who you are.”
It’s a simplification, and it doesn’t apply only to the Japanese. People choose how to present themselves to different audiences. This is because no matter how self-confident we are, on some level we still crave other people’s approval, so we tailor how we present ourselves depending on what we perceive the audience we face will approve of.

Despite the so-called “media bias”, the president still enjoys a high approval rating, meaning either (a) the public doesn’t care what the media says and believes the president in spite of everything (in which case why complain about the media?); or (b) the public believes the “big media spin” and approves of it anyway. I’ll leave it as an exercise as to which possibility is worse
