Posted on r/civ: Is there a way to legally get a digital copy of Civ 1 and 2?
I was thinking that in anticipation of Civ 6, I would play a game each of Civ 1-5. I have 3-5 on Steam, but any copy of Civ 1 and 2 have been lost to the sands of time

I have this theory that the reason fanatics assume that anyone who criticizes the administration is a “pro-Aquino yellowtard” is that (1/?)
they don’t understand any other possible way of thinking (2/?)
They have subsumed their identity to their perceived demigod (who can do no wrong and whose words are gospel) 3/?
and anyone who dares question him can only be the heathen fanatic followers of a false god 4/4
Because they think this way, they believe everyone else does so too
They have no choice but to cheer on every inane thing their demigod does because they have surrendered their identities to his persona
-
I actually try to not be so negative about the administration anymore, but Dear Leader doesn’t make it easy. Hardly a day goes by when there aren’t some sort of disappointing shenanigans or hypocrisy. The sad thing is tuwang tuwa pa ang mga supporters kasi for them Dear Leader can do no wrong

Someone on quora asked:
For large products, support and administration can indeed pretty much grow to be a full-time job. It can be a viable option for you if you are interested in the burgeoning Dev Ops field.
However if you have concerns with how this affects your career or how it will take you in a different direction that you want, itβs a good idea to discuss this directly with your manager. Just say that you are willing to help with the support tasks, but you would still like to have some coding work as well. Ask if perhaps the support work could be split with another willing developer, or could it be a temporary assignment while they look for someone else to help?

Is there ever any good reason for an agency to not have some sort of numbered ticket queueing system instead of some silly physical queue where people need to move chairs every few minutes?

I just rewatched Batman Returns because I only realized a couple of weeks ago that Christopher Walken was in this movie. The plot is kind of bizarre lol

Posted on r/ipad: What’s a good app to use with iPad Pro + Pencil to make comic strips?
I’ve been using Sketchbook Pro since that’s what I use for my sketching, but I find that my hands are very uneven at drawing the speech bubbles, so I’m hoping for something that includes a smoothing process for the lines, and also a way to input multiple lines of text easily

I think it’s better to build trust in the PNP if the organisation itself is able to promote transparency within its own ranks, but I guess it could be anybody

Posted on r/Philippines: Crowdsourcing constructive criticism: what constructive suggestions do you have for the current administration to allay concerns especially on violence and extrajudicial/vigilante killings?
For example, some suggestions I would make:
- for the president to come out with a strongly worded message enjoining law enforcement to observe proper procedures, rules of engagement and due process
- provide regular summary reports, probably weekly of the progress of the “drug war”: how many buy bust operations, how many drug dealers captured alive, how many died in encounters, how many died while in custody, and so on
- provide and publicize a channel/process for family members of people alleged killed unjustly in police operations to air their grievances and file cases. Provide protection and legal counsel (via the PAO?) as needed
- related to above, appoint someone to be in charge of investigating extrajudicial killings. that person should provide regular weekly update reports on the cases being investigated and act as a spokesman for the PNP (I assume he would be from the PNP) on this matter and liaise with the senate and the CHR for any investigations
- provide regular reports on the status of the vigilante/cardboard killing cases
etc.
Edit, some additional:
- automatically perform autopsy on any alleged criminals killed in a police encounter. Check for powder burns, prints on the weapon, and so on, and regularly release these autopsy reports to promote transparency
- conduct re-training for police on how to handle suspects in custody to avoid “nang-agaw ng baril” even though naka handcuffs. Punish policemen na naagawan pa rin ng baril kahit nakaposas na

Something I’ve been wondering about, maybe someone can enlighten me: if as some people claim, Marcos Sr is already entitled to be buried sa LNMB, what has stopped him from being buried there before? Bakit kailangan pa iutos ng presidente? Meron bang discretion ang executive branch to allow or deny that privelege? Kasi even if you say that past administrations were not friendly enough to the Marcos family, if totoo that the rules entitled them to that privelege, bakit hindi sila nagfile ng kaso against whomever was preventing it?
-
I consider anyone who believes Marcos to have been a hero and/or a good president to be around the same level as flat-earthers, holocaust deniers or 9/11 conspiracy theorists (jet fuel can’t melt steel beams!). The behavior, logic, and way of thinking (or lack thereof) seems about the same
