“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tanhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears…in…rain. Time to die.”

Great, now these pro-admin troll groups are actively promoting hatred of anyone whose opinions they dislike. Tapos sasabihin gusto ng unity. Please help to report this page/post Edit: Looks like the album was taken down. For the curious, the album had tagged a particular netizen from the academe and included images of his posts questioning some decisions of the government, with the hashtag #EnemiesForChange

Screws can be pretty annoying (especially when they don’t cooperate), but they’re a fundamentally simple tech we’ve been using for centuries with no feasible replacement. I wonder if in the future we’ll be travelling through space at warp speeds in spaceships held together by such simple things as screws. Somehow in Star Trek the engineers never seem to have screwdrivers

So, yesterday I found out my keyboard had been infested by ants (yes, we’re terrible, we shouldn’t be eating too much near the keyboard, etc). There’s some pictures here if you want (warning: ANTS!) I ended up having to take apart the keyboard (twice), rinse it, rinse the keycaps and the rubber contacts separately, then letting it dry overnight. I had already tried putting it back together last night, but it led to some weird problems like the R key rebooting the computer, or the 0 key randomly getting pressed continuously. I figured there was still moisture in the contacts so some additional dry time was needed This is the second time I’ve tried to take apart and reassemble a keyboard due to an insect infestation (hindi natututo…), but last time the keyboard didn’t work after I put it back together. This time seems more successful It seems to work fine now, except that in the process I’ve lost one screw (it’s somewhere under my desk, I don’t have a flashlight to look for it with) and one rubber contact (I chose to sacrifice the Scroll Lock key). A second rubber contact was so worn down it was almost unresponsive - I moved it to the Pause/Break key. I have no other keys left to sacrifice so hopefully that’s it.

The President leading rites honoring National Heroes Day at the LNMB today. If he has his way, this time next year he’ll be honoring former President Marcos as a hero as well

IDK what Duterte supporters are trying to accomplish by pointing out that there are also rapes and other crimes going on perpetrated by drug addicts. (a) Nobody is encouraging or cheering on those crimes; and (b) Pinapalabas nyo lang that the police are still ineffective (not the CHR, since that’s not their responsibility)

As someone who has no idea what different car models look like, I wish Uber had a feature to show a photo of the car that will be picking me up

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert.
Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
‘My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!’
Nothing beside remains.
Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away
– Percy Bysshe Shelly, “Ozymandias”

I actually try to not be so negative about the administration anymore, but Dear Leader doesn’t make it easy. Hardly a day goes by when there aren’t some sort of disappointing shenanigans or hypocrisy. The sad thing is tuwang tuwa pa ang mga supporters kasi for them Dear Leader can do no wrong

Is there ever any good reason for an agency to not have some sort of numbered ticket queueing system instead of some silly physical queue where people need to move chairs every few minutes?

Ooh, this app I’m trying lets me export a timelapse! Now you can watch all the mistakes I made, including the tiny arms! (Reposted for the benefit of people who don’t like tilting their heads sideways)

I just rewatched Batman Returns because I only realized a couple of weeks ago that Christopher Walken was in this movie. The plot is kind of bizarre lol
