I wonder what are the odds that science/capitalism eventually finds a profitable use for plastic trash and all these polluted waterways we have turn into figurative gold
Quoted rapplerdotcom's tweet:WATCH: Manila ‘trash bin’ waterway choked with plastic https://www.rappler.com/nation/204187-pasig-river-manila-trashbin-plastic?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=Inhouse_video&utm_campaign=nation

Some ideas are fickle and will refuse to settle, vanishing from your conscious mind as soon as you think about writing them down. Some will even come back, teasing you some more. Maybe the reason they’re so slippery is that they’re not ready to settle down yet

Given that WFH means Work from Home, which is clearly a verb, what is the past tense of WFH?
-
@aprilwensel sorry if this is bothersome. I remember some time ago you mentioned a new stackoverflow alternative that had a better (less toxic) community, would you remember what it was? I’d like to give it a try, thanks :)

Things could always be much worse. For example, the one to acquire Github could have been EA

I think it’s true that there is a part of Pinoy culture that celebrates being a DOM, the same part that celebrates misogyny and objectification of women. The question isnt whether it’s there, the question is what can we do to get rid of it

In C++ we don’t say “Missing asterisk” we say “error C2664: ‘void std::vector<block,std::allocator<_Ty>>::push_back(const block &)': cannot convert argument 1 from ‘std::_Vector_iterator<std::_Vector_val<std::_Simple_types<block>>>’ to ‘block &&'” and i think that’s beautiful

Half of the time when companies say they need “AI” what they really need is a SELECT clause with GROUP BY.

I was taught early on that “utang na loob” is one of the most dangerous traits embedded in our culture. In many instances, from family matters to politics, “utang na loob” has become a poisonous substitute to reason, an intimate form of serfdom.

The “Minimum Viable Product” (MVP) is the most well-known, admired concept in early startup product development.
Unfortunately, MVP is often misused in a way that actually harms early-stage startups, leading them to create needlessly bad products.

Was looking for a standup special I could leave running on Netflix and settled on Martin Short/Steve Martin. Much regret, it’s so boring. Not sure what I expected from two old white dudes

As promised, I checked out Disney Life via Globe’s promo. The movie selection is quite limited (<10 mcu movies, 5 star wars movies, etc). On the other hand, they already have 12 episodes of the new DuckTales (Woo-oo!) and Star Wars Rebels
annoyingly however, I can’t seem to watch stuff on Disney Life via my desktop web browser. I had to download an iPad app
