i.e. having an entire roguelike inside the main game?
I went to the store page to check it out before buying it, but it turns out I already had it! @_@ Hopefully I’ll have the time to try it soon. :D
Maybe there’s a special Half-Life thing tomorrow. Lol, one can hope.
I just visit these threads for the discussions.
What is this a reference to?
Wow, maybe I’ll actually play it now
Save it for the summer sales coming in around a month.
Truths, if you want to get into game design learn computer science and get a solid paying job at some software firm. You’ll have enough code knowledge and free time to code games yourself and be set in terms of money.
The free time part above made me lol
I remember seeing this ad and wanting the game so bad…
Really? It’s a bit like filing a complaint because you didn’t like how a book ends.
I feel for you. The tide of internet hate from people who feel entitled and don’t understand how games are developed and budgeted is very strong.
To be fair, I did not get either ME1 or ME2 for full price either. Too bad ME3 is not likely to go on a Steam-level sale!
I already did. Feels like more of the same of ME2 which was a bit mediocre to be honest.
This review actually made me hold off on buying it, as it makes out that only the story is the strong point while the gameplay is not as good. I mean, I’m sure I’d enjoy the story as it seems epic based on the demo, but I wouldn’t plunk down full price for a game just for that.
So…your issue is with console exclusiveness, not the on-disc DLC?
For people who whine about this sort of thing, it’s not really about value for money. It’s about entitlement.
Would it make you feel better if there was no DLC at all?
Can I ask what software you’re using?
I got JRTANY6NTYFE. Thanks, will try to comment later~
I wonder why they don’t include the Square characters anymore (like Squall, Cloud, etc who appeared in the original KH) Probably some licensing issue I guess
As much as I support this post, I’m afraid it’s not really going to do much to change the minds of those who feel really entitled to it. They are too blinded by nerdrage to understand what this chart means, I say just let them rant it all out and ignore the multiple threads about it, until ME3’s release date when the rage subsides as they enjoy the game.
People should stop posting threads about it. Inevitably all those people whining about it will just flock here. They’re not going to listen to reason or anything, they’re entitled to that additional content for free damn it! And a pony too!
They need to deliver the game to the console guys (Microsoft/Sony) for certification months before the release date (I believe for ME3 it was submitted for certification in January). So your suggestion is that even if they have a chance to work on additional content earlier, they should NOT do that at all? Like, just have those guys work on the old republic or something?
In my opinion any plot related dlc available on launch day should be free.
Strictly out of curiosity, for what value of N would “DLC released N days after the launch day” be okay for you, but “DLC release N-1 days after launch day” not be okay?
Good DLC adds something new to the game.
I like how your criteria for “Good DLC” doesnt include whether it was a day one release or not. And if you’re saying “day one” means it’s not “new”, would day two be better?
I like how the statue is part of the game’s content.
It’s like that time I bought FF7 and later there were action figures of cloud and sephiroth being sold in the store, but they should give those to me for free because they’re part of the game content! Oh, and I should also get a copy of Advent Children for free!
If they’re doing this and you don’t like, then stop buying from them.
They need to slow down, I haven’t even played Witcher 1 and 2 yet >.<
So I’ve tried both the PS3 and the PC demos. The PC version looks better, but the control scheme seems clunky for the keyboard/mouse (the loot dialog doesn’t even seem to have any keyboard shortcuts) and better for the controller. I’m also not too thrilled that the PC version required me to login to my EA account. Any feedback on the full version, is it ok, better than the demo?
Anything else I need to consider in weighing PC vs PS3? Do we expect mod support? Also, if I buy the retail version (off the shelf copies are a lot cheaper than digital downloads where I am), will it be for Steam or Origin or Neither?
That’s fine. I am also prepared for Reddit’s PC Gaming master race bias :D
Are you suggesting that r/gaming should be filled with posts begging for stuff? You’re not the only poor gamer you know.
r/gaming is not averse to giveaways, but the supply of people who can giveaway stuff is a lot less than the people who want stuff, so it’s more acceptable to post a thread giving away stuff than begging for stuff
I approve of this novelty account.
Here’s the list of games the promo applies to: http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/?docId=1000728511
I don’t have anything to get on this list (I would’ve gotten Shogun Total War if the price had dropped more =/), so I’ll just give away the code.
First come, first serve: PHHK-VJGNQ6-F7QGAL

So jelly~
There’s a large online community, you can basically find games anytime. If you want to play competitively, SC2 is the best game for it too.
You are being downvoted because reddiquette states: Moderate based on quality, not opinion. Well-written and interesting content can be worthwhile, even if you disagree with it.
For $150? I’d take this if I weren’t in a faraway country
At the very least, I will not be buying (nor pirating) ME3 on release, and will first see how the feedback online goes.
I dislike the whole thing not because of the DRM (I don’t even see Steam as DRM), I dislike it because the Origin service at the moment is crappy. They don’t have the same amount of sales Steam does, and their customer service is horrid (there are horror stories about Steam customer service)
I’m all for having a competing service to Steam, but hopefully that competing service is a good one that forces Steam to innovate and improve to keep up (not that they’re doing a bad job at the moment). Origin is nowhere near that yet.
Mass Effect 3 being exclusive to Origin isn’t a bad thing per se, but it’s a bit like a much anticipated game being exclusive to a console that only 5% of the market uses - the other 95% are sad, but we just move on because our platform of choice already has a vastly superior library anyway.
Post them as links to reddit. They’ll get upvoted if they’re good I guess.
Pokemon is already an RPG
PC. Less buggy, can be modded, like changing dragons to macho man
This information isn’t something they publicly release.
I just crafted four times and got four X% off Valve coupons. I love it. Anyone want to trade for some other coupons?
Nevertheless, it’s been a good sale and christmas hunt. I did get one game from the gift pile (SpaceChem), and bought quite a few cheap ones.
I hope you guys had a good holiday sale :D
Wow. Might as well. Put me in for the Witcher :D
Are you entering them in the draw? I don’t think it’s worth it… craft them all!
