You have the power to cure the most horrible diseases in the world but at the cost of killing a single innocent child. What would you do?

I will probably do it… Sacrificing one child for the rest of mankind.,, just like God, He sacrificed His own son Jesus for us.
Depends on who you're bargaining with and the details. Presented as is, no. You have no idea who that child is (might be the next Einstein), what the cure for the diseases is (death?), or what diseases are even being cured.
There is no bargaining or trickery involved, it's just a moral/ethical choice. Also, the innocent child is looking at you with puppy dog eyes
i'm curious why is this going around again. i used to answer kill the child, without a doubt, and couldn't understand why anyone could possibly choose not to, greater good and all. nowadays i'm not so sure if having the most horrible diseases cured is such a desirable state of affairs even if you didn't have to kill a child.
It's easy enough to say you would when it's just an intellectual exercise. I know myself enough to know I wouldn't. The people I know and interact with are more important to me than some nameless legion in Africa.
