Posted on r/techsupport: I have a Samsung 2233sw monitor, and the menu and brightness dialog on the lower right of the screen won’t go away
Here’s a picture: http://i.imgur.com/DOcPX.jpg (the glare is hiding the brightness bar). I’ve had this monitor for a while, I guess something is loose? Pressing the menu buttons on the side doesn’t help (I can’t even adjust the brightness to a value other than 100)
Any ideas for a quick fix aside from taking it to some shop to be repaired? I’d rather not have to open up the monitor.

Posted on r/comicbooks: Avengers Assemble - is this title set in the main universe or the movie universe?
I mean, it looks like a main book based on the first few pages with Mockingbird, Wolverine, Ms Marvel, Black Panther, Red Hulk, and other current Avengers on the team, but the cover features the ones who’ve appeared in the movie only. Also, as far as I know the current green Hulk is bald and intelligent, while the Hulk in this book has hair and seems less intelligent. So…which is it?

I’m trying to write a servlet Filter that under certain conditions will read the HTML response returned by the JSP file and process it (using an XHTML parser) and make some modifications to it before finally returning it to the browser (basically I’m trying to implement a global change to avoid having to modify hundreds of JSPs individually)
I’m using Tomcat. I started out by providing a wrapper for the HttpServletResponse and the ServletOutputStream before passing them back to the filter chain. However, I’m getting an “IllegalStateException: getOutputStream() has already been called for this response.” It seems to happen whenever one of our taglibs tries to write using the writer returned by “this.pageContext.getOut()”, so I guess the response/writer/outputstream being used by Tomcat isn’t using the wrapper classes I passed via the filter.
Any suggestions? Or is there a better way to accomplish what I’m trying to do?
