Nakakasira ng faith in humanity yung mga nagpopost ng #BBM4VP sa Twitter (I blame Red kaya ako nagbasa nito). I’m kind of tempted to write a Twitter bot to reply to all these people and berate them a bit, but as Maoi would say I am sadly burdened with decency

Sana magconcede na si Roxas first thing in the morning. Pag hindi, aapihin na naman sya sa social media :p

I’m happy to say I managed to get through the election period without having to block or unfollow anyone because of election shenanigans. Yes, even the most obnoxious ones, pinagtyagaan ko kayo lahat haha. Sana wala din nagunfollow sakin :p
-
With a difference this close, neither one of the leading VPs will be conceding. You can bet it’s all going to be contested all the way to the canvassing by the PET

Sa dami ng namimigay ng sample ballot outside the voting site, I was tempted that when the next one came over at me I would raise my hands in the air and loudly shot “ABA BAKIT MO AKO INAABUTAN NG FIVE HUNDRED PESOS! AYAW KO NAMAN IBOTO YANG SI

As long as you’re not in a hotspot area (the Comelec takes over such areas), it should be fine. Traffic will probably be weekend-bad in Metro Manila.

Polls open in 3 hours. I find myself unable to sleep.
The past few days I’ve toned my social media posts and tried to tell myself that I can live with whoever the public decides to elect. That I will think positively, and support him when he does well, and call him out when he does not. But now I find my guts feel sick when I think about who the public is likely to elect.
The man stands for violence and authoritarianism. Not only is change coming, change is already here. The campaign period has changed our country, and the change is for the worse. His supporters openly and proudly threaten violence against anyone who disagrees with their opinion. There are even reports of others being threatened or harassed in real life simply for harassing other candidates. They either knowingly spread misinformation and half-truths, or can’t be bothered to verify the information they’re spreading. Forget about being a good example for kids, he’s not even a good example for adults.
I know I shouldn’t judge other people for the choices they make, but I can’t help but be disappointed when people I know come out in support for the man, people who I believe should know better, who should hold better values. I don’t understand how they could justify supporting him in spite of his violent rhetoric and the significantly good chance that he’s a murderer. It changes how I see these people
I would like to remain hopeful. I would like to hope that one of the other candidates manages some sort of miracle (hopefully of the legal kind) and overcomes the odds. Barring that, I would like to hope that I am wrong about him and that the worst-case scenario does not come to pass. I would like to hope that he would not push our society further in the direction of violence and authoritarianism. I would like to hope that the supporters do not become even more insufferable in the wake of victory. I would like to hope that we can move past the level of vitriol and toxicity throughout this campaign peri

Tapping out on my last chance to advance in the Google Code Jam. Not enough time to earn enough points to advance. Really rusty at this, maybe I’ll try again next year

Posted on r/spikes: [Modern] jeskai control or grixis control
So I have the option of assembling either jeskai control or grixis control. What are the differences to consider? Do they have different bad matchups? I like having lightning helix to help stabilize vs burn but I’m not sure if jeskai is better positioned than grixis atm

This will largely depend on the implementation of the servlet container. It will be called whenever the servlet container deallocates the servlet instance. The servlet spec does not specify when this should happen. The servlet instance may be active for the entire duration that the servlet container is up, or it may deallocate instances earlier for performance purposes

I think controlled. You should be able to get a license, parang rally. For example, if mag fireworks display ang mall, they need to get a license first.

For my pro-Duterte friends, I have a survey. I’m not going to try to change your minds, but which of the following views do you hold (EJK = extra judicial killings):
- I think there are no EJKs in Davao
- (removed - don’t answer this, see comment below)
- I think there are EJKs in Davao, but the authorities/the mayor are not involved
- I think that those allegedly killed by EJKs were killed by authorities in legitimate operations or self-defense
- I think there are EJKs in Davao, and the authorities are involved, but it’s okay because:
a. They’re criminals and they deserve it
b. Going through the judicial system takes too long
c. Hindi naman ako affected
d. It is an acceptable price to pay for peace and order/progress
e. winawarningan naman muna sila - I don’t want to think about it kasi wala naman akong first-hand info
- Something else (feel free to explain)
If you are uncomfortable giving your answer in public, feel free to PM me

Someone on quora asked:
If people are really being extorted by corrupt personnel, that’s a problem of the government.
If people are being ignorant and really bringing along ammunition for whatever reason, that’s not a problem of the government (this was I believe the context of that quote)

Someone on quora asked:
If you feel that you are working on a team where everyone else in the room is smarter than you, then you are very lucky! You have a unique opportunity: you can learn from everyone else!
There is a saying “If you are the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room.” This is because if you are the smartest person in the room, not only will you be doing all the work, but you will not be growing as much as you could if you were working with people who are smarter than you.
So take advantage of this opportunity to learn from your coworkers and better yourself.

I think it’s a mistake that will unnecessarily tie down future Batman writers. It might even be seen as a sign that they have creatively run out of ideas for the Joker as a character.

Someone on quora asked:
How do people scoring high on IQ tests think to solve problems?
Often it will be a matter of differences in experiences and perspectives. Typically, people scoring high on IQ tests are more used to thinking out of the box or approaching problems from different perspectives, enabling them to see more possible solutions than people with a narrower focus. Also, practice matters. If you are more used to solving different kinds of problems, you will have more experience to draw on when approaching a new kind of problem, and problems that are similar to ones you have encountered before will be much easier.
