Also, I’m now worried since I haven’t played the first game, I may have spoiled that one by playing X first

I wonder if my respect for due process is because in software development, if you go cowboy without any sort of process things will tend to break down and descend into chaos. I’ve been in crazy projects with a lot of problems but I’ve never wanted to skip process like testing, verification, triage, etc. Imagine if your project lead was like this crazy cowboy where he’s all “fix lang tayo ng fix, wag na tayo magverify, we only have 3-6 months, my god i hate bugs!”, tapos pag umalma yung testing lead sasabihan sya ng “wag ka magulo, sasabihan ko yung devs na wag ka respetuhin”

Someone on quora asked:
The stuff school teaches you - literature, mathematics, art, history, science, and so on - are intended to give you a broad enough base from which you can freely choose the direction you want to go in life. This means that as you specialize, many of these subjects may become “irrelevant” to you, but having this broad base of knowledge gives you a better foundation in life. Knowledge from unrelated fields can often give useful insight to your own specialized field.
That being said, the most useful stuff you learn from school isn’t the stuff that’s in the lectures or in the textbooks. The most important things you learn from school are in the methods of learning and working well with others. School teaches how to apply yourself, how to study and pick up new material, how to listen to other people, how to determine which knowledge is useful to learn, how to discern truth from fiction, how to work within a set of rules, how to manage your time, how to deal with schedules and deadlines, how to work well with other people, how to deal with difficult people, and so on. In short, the most important lesson school teaches you is how to deal with the real world.

It’s untrue that most people see kindness and forgiveness as a weakness. It probably depends on where you live, but I think in general the opposite is true. People would see it as a virtue and wish they could be as kind. It may not seem as such to you because generally unkind people are a lot louder and more visible.
Being good to other people is not only beneficial for the people you are good to, but it is beneficial for you yourself as well, since it encourages you to have a positive outlook in life and grows your soul. It helps you make connections to other human beings. Even if being kind to another people only had a 10% chance of giving you a positive connection to another person, that is still miles better than the 0% chance that being unkind would.
Being good to other people is also beneficial to society as a whole, because we are able to accomplish much more working together than being apart. Imagine a society where everyone was uncaring for other people vs a society where everyone is kind. The second society would be more prone to cooperation and connections being built and have a greater sense of community, which means that more “greater good” can be achieved.

Play-wise, it’s impossible to predict what kind of decks there’ll be in March, so just practice general tight play for now.
Aside from that, the biggest difference a large tournament like a GP has compared to an FNM is the sheer length of the tournament. I’m not sure how large GPs in your area get, but I would typically expect 9 or 10 rounds on the first day. If you’re used to just playing 4-5 rounds of FNM, it can get exhausting. You need to build up both your physical and mental stamina. So what I would suggest is playing at other large tournaments near you to start getting used to it. 7-8 rounds should be fine, if you have trouble looking for something with at least 9 rounds. PPTQs and SCG stuff are your best bet, although some stores might have larger GPT events too if they have a large enough playerbase.

SUICIDE SQUAD Spoiler-Free Review:
- a fun, wild ride. Explosions and gunfire and creepy tentacles abound
- just don’t expect too much from the plot or characterization. There was more than one scene where I was like WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT?
- I liked the soundtrack
- very much a Deadshot/Harley movie, other characters not given much back story
- I still like Ledger’s joker over Leto’s. Leto’s portrayal is like crazy gangster
- I had no idea who the big bad was going in, so that’s something. Task Force X completely over their heads
- hard to compare to the other DC movies so far, as it goes in a completely different direction
- one mid-credits scene, no post-credits
- magugustuhan ba ni Mama: Probably not. Also, madaming tatanungin

Posted on r/ipad: How good is the iPad Pro + Apple Pencil for drawing purposes?
I currently have the 4th generation iPad (the first one with retina display), and I’ve tried using third-party styluses with them but am never satisfied, it always feel imprecise. I’ve tried drawing with just my fingers and while it’s more precise it also feels a bit more tiring
I’m thinking of getting an iPad Pro next month. How much better would it be to use the Apple Pencil?

Just watched the series finale of Star Trek Voyager, finally those crazy nerds managed to get home! I came into the series with low expectations given its reputation, but I think it was pretty ok overall. There were some pretty ridiculous episodes here and there, but even the much-revered TNG suffered from that. Janeway made some questionable decisions throughout the series, but arguably they were faced with a different set of quandaries than the crew of TNG or DS9. I feel like Voyager also had way more time travel episodes than either TNG or DS9 for some reason. Best character: The Doctor, although he’s kind of a deus-ex-machina too, especially once he gets that mobile emitter “Oh, don’t worry I can do that super dangerous thing because I’m a hologram!”. Seven of Nine a close second, I was mildly annoyed with the character as first introduced, but she was developed well as the series went along. Worst character: Chakotay. Ugh, I cringe whenever there’s one of his “Space Indian” episodes. He didn’t even do anything in the series finale except be a love interest for Seven of Nine

Well, the obvious answer is to develop the will to work hard. But let’s assume that’s not something you’re interested in (and maybe that’s fine)
A better answer would be to work smart, not hard. Focus on being efficient. You should look for ways to accomplish your goals with the least amount of work. This shouldn’t mean doing illegal things or breaking the law though. It means being able to think outside the box to find solutions that may not be immediately obvious but are more efficient and will require less work.

You search for it. You try different things, until you find that place where you’re most comfortable and can do as much as you can without sacrificing your own happiness. You might find the right place, you might not, but for sure along the way you will grow as a person and gain valuable insight and probably help a few lives along the way
