Too bad about Almost Human getting cancelled, but it wasn’t unexpected for me. Kennex and Dorian had good chemistry, but most of the episodes were run-of-the-mill crime stories with scifi elements tossed in, probably wasn’t enough to justify the budget

Amazing Spider-Man 2: Fun movie, but there were a number of nitpicky bits and the storytelling wasn’t too tight - some of the scenes seemed unnecessary

The early reviews on Amazing Spider-Man 2 are mixed =/ I’m still going to watch it of course, but it’s better not to keep my hopes up especially after the awesomeness that was Captain America 2.

This week’s book was Mort (from the Discworld series). I’ve read the first few Discworld books, and some of the random later ones, but I figured I should start reading them in order and maybe I’ll be finished sometime before I die if Pratchett slows down a bit. I also have a couple of unread physical books in the series, but they’re a bit ahead of the sequence. The Discworld books are quick reads anyway (I finished Mort in around three hours while doing other stuff), so it shouldn’t take too long, hopefully…

How would you feel if you were the developer who introduced the heartbleed bug?

Say what you will about the Game of Thrones TV series, but I really like how they did the battle of Blackwater Bay (yes, I’m still in season 2 playing catch up). Or maybe I just really enjoy watching large-scale medieval warfare, it’s far better than reading about it. Looking forward to the big battle in the North towards the end of season 4.

It’s odd, but I often have conversations with taxi drivers that go like:
“Sa Tandang Sora po ako”
“Saan sa Tandang Sora?”
“Sa may Visayas po”
Then later during the ride when we get to Visayas they’re going to ask where along Visayas I’m going to get off. It’s like in their head “sa may Visayas” translates to “along Visayas, please completely disregard what I just said about Tandang Sora”
